Who sang 'Johnny B. Goode' in 1958?
Did You Know?
Many consider 'Johnny B. Goode' the song that defined rock and roll guitar. Every rock guitarist who came after, from Keith Richards to Bruce Springsteen, copied that opening riff. NASA agreed. When they sent the Voyager Golden Record into deep space in 1977 to introduce humanity to whoever might find it, 'Johnny B. Goode' was the only rock song they included. Right now, that record is over 15 billion miles from Earth, hurtling through interstellar space, Chuck Berry broadcasting forever to the stars. Berry himself, asked about it in an interview, just laughed and said 'I'd like to know how they're enjoying it up there.'
